The Gahcho Kué Project is an exciting proposed new diamond mine located in the Northwest Territories, Canada. De Beers Canada is seeking to fill the following position which will support the upgrading of the site and lead into the construction of the project. This position will be based out of the Yellowknife office with travel to the Gahcho Kué site.

The incumbent will be responsible for:

Executing the Repair and Maintenance Program (RAMP) contract, Tire Services contract, Camp Catering and Janitorial Services contract, Explosives Supply contract and other mining-related service contracts for the Gahcho Kué project;

Ensuring and monitoring Contractor adherence to DBCI and the DB Group Safety and Environmental programs, standards and objectives;

Establishing and monitoring contract performance objectives and progress against cost, time and cash flow, including work verification, delivery acceptance, invoice verification, change management, dispute resolution and contract closeout requirements;

Ensuring alignment with corporate supply chain management standards;

Developing and monitoring continuous improvement opportunities;

Liaising regularly with the maintenance and supply chain teams as well as other stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve any potential schedule conflicts and resource/time constraints;

Reviewing and monitoring budgets and developing other business-related documents as required;

Identifying variances in performance and developing/implementing remedial responses;

Ensuring contract processes and practices are audited and implementing corrective actions; and

Developing strong customer/supplier relationships to support business results.

 

Requirements:

Completion of a university degree in a related discipline (Engineering, Commerce);

Ten to fifteen years of relevant experience, ideally in the mining and/or construction industries;

Strong written and verbal communication skills;

Excellent technical, communication and organizational skills are essential;

Demonstrated ability to motivate and build a strong team environment will be essential to the success of this position;

Experience with Quantity Surveying an asset;

Proven track record in developing and implementing business improvement is essential.
